New Direction

Gallery nOne is moving in a new direction with new art, new artists and of course a new look, so keep checking back,  as things develop.

Moving forward is an easy thing to do when you start with a direction in mind. My position in life has always seemed to be incumbered by “stuff”, found stuff, used stuff and other people’s stuff. The interesting thing is that amongst all this stuff, none has bogged me down as much as the “energies” that come with it.

I just recently removed 3 generations of “family stuff” from my home and 10 years of “paintings” from my studio, just to get some fresh air. Now that I’m breathing and looking around I can see a new direction for my life,  my art and Gallery nOne.

My vision is to show people they can learn about themselves through art, as I have over the past 30 years. Learning to see, where we live and travel to, in a less conventional way.

Discovery is what art is all about, not whether a tree looks like a tree. Questioning the idea of a tree and understanding that our connection with it goes much deeper than the pictorial symbol of the tree it’s self

A definition of art, more over, a way to live, is what I advocate. Those years in school, learning the techniques of the masters and pushing forth to find my own style of painting was a good foundation and yet, it is to be all forgotten for the higher road, a natural, nontechnical, intuitive creative road.

My final thought, this isn’t the “whole picture” because the rest of this journey has not revealed it’s self yet.

The wonderment and excitement of life is just being in the world and observing.
